If you have read my blog a year ago, you know that my blog is focused on my life as a new mom, living in a new city, and how I battled postpartum depression. In reality, I was blogging whatever it is that comes to mind. I write my emotion, or whatever is new in my life because it was an outlet to release my anxiety.
But recently, you may have seen me talking in my social media post how I wanted to focus on one thing. I wanted to focus on a thing that I really have passion for and at the same time help those who want to start to work at home or current work at home moms like myself.
Why did I rebrand my blog?
As I move towards blogging, I realized that I need to have a purpose. A purpose that’s more than my emotions. I need to help someone. I need to share my knowledge and experience.
The best feeling in the world (aside from your kid smiling at you and saying I love you) is when you were able to help someone. You were able to inspire someone. And that for me is a great reason to continue blogging.
I am receiving tons of questions on where to find a home-based job, what skills do you need to get a remote position, what my job is and a whole lot more. There are tons of skills you can learn for you to earn while taking care of your kids, but one of the most in-demand skills is graphic design.
I know that there are a lot of creatives at heart that want to start a business or a freelance job in graphic design but don’t know where to start, most especially if they don’t have any design degree.
You don’t need a design degree.
I’ve been a graphic designer for almost 10 years now, and I’m self taught.
That means that I did not go to any design school but I have experience with web and print designs. I learned it personally and have tons of training and exposure all throughout my 10 years of being a creative.
I am so excited about this transition.
What has changed?
Moving forward you can expect that the blog will be geared towards graphic design and tips, free templates, workflows and hacks. I want to focus on beginner graphic designers, homebased moms, and social media managers.
I’m actually working on templates that you can use with Canva and I’m giving it away for free.
You will also notice that the website has changed and my concept. Therefore, a new brand. Here’s the moodboard I crafted for the brand.
You will also see a new logo that I created. It took me time and energy to finally portray in one icon what the purpose of the blog is.
The logo represents love ie. the name of the blog and because everything I do is made out of love. On top of it is the pen tool. If you’re an experienced graphic designer, you know how important the pen tool is and how every designer just loves the pen tool. Don’t worry we’ll talk about that tool later on the blog.
What can you expect from here on out?
I will still write about lifestyle, my life, my family and reviews because I know that there are a lot of people who want to read that too. Honestly, my posts that are getting more traffic are review posts. So I am not closing my doors on that.
I am just opening another window to help work at home moms like me. In line with that, I am also opening myself up for graphic design services — may it be logo, brand, package or print, let me know and we can discuss that for you, feel free to contact me here.
I am tweaking the site for now and revamping my Instagram as well. It’s time to unleash my creativity and provide solutions, tips and tricks to help you elevate your graphic design skill.
See you around and I can’t wait to share this wonderful journey with you.
